# Collect data

Install the Tracix Collector, manage it with policies, instrument applications with OpenTelemetry, and collect network, cloud and integration data.

Everything Tracix shows starts as telemetry sent to your workspace. Most of it comes through the Tracix Collector, an OpenTelemetry Collector distribution you install on your hosts and clusters and manage from the console. Applications can also send OpenTelemetry data straight to your workspace.

## Tracix Collector

Install the collector where your data is, enroll it into a policy, and change what it collects from the console.

- [Install the collector](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/collector/install): Linux, macOS, Windows, Kubernetes or Docker

- [Enroll and manage with policies](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/collector/policies): Enrollment tokens, integrations and revisions

- [Upgrade collectors](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/collector/upgrade): From the console, by hand or automatically

- [Ports, proxies and firewalls](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/collector/ports-and-proxies): What to open, and how to use a proxy

- [Configuration reference](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/collector/configuration): Policy settings, files and the health check

- [Troubleshoot the collector](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/collector/troubleshooting): Symptoms, causes and fixes

## Instrument applications

Send traces, metrics and logs from your own code with upstream OpenTelemetry SDKs, or trace services with no code changes using eBPF.

- [OTLP endpoint and ingest keys](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/instrument/otlp): Where applications send data, and how they authenticate

- [Languages and SDKs](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/instrument/languages): Set up Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, Go and more

- [Zero-code eBPF tracing](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/instrument/ebpf): Trace services on Linux without touching them

- [Browser RUM](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/instrument/browser-rum): Page loads, errors and sessions from real users

- [Trace sampling](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/instrument/sampling): Decide which traces Tracix keeps

## Network data

Poll and receive data from routers, switches, firewalls and other devices through a collector on your network.

- [SNMP polling and traps](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/network-data/snmp): Device metrics, interfaces and traps

- [NetFlow, IPFIX and sFlow](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/network-data/flows): Who talks to whom, and how much

- [Syslog](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/network-data/syslog): Device and application logs over syslog

## Cloud and integrations

- [Cloud accounts](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/cloud): AWS, Azure and Google Cloud discovery and metrics

- [Integrations catalog](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/integrations): How packages work, and how to connect one
