# Network

Monitor network devices over SNMP, analyze flows, map topology from LLDP and manage device configuration with backups, change requests and compliance rules.

Watch the health of your routers, switches, firewalls and other network devices, see how they connect and what traffic crosses them, and change their configuration through reviewed requests.

Everything on this tab runs through Tracix Collectors installed on your own network. A collector polls devices over SNMP, receives their traps, syslog and flow records, and runs configuration jobs against them over SSH, NETCONF or gNMI. Devices only talk to the collector; the collector connects out to your workspace. In the console, all of it lives under **Network**.

## Monitor devices and traffic

- [Devices and SNMP profiles](https://tracix.io/docs/network/devices): Add devices over SNMP v2c or v3 and read their device pages

- [Discovery and topology](https://tracix.io/docs/network/discovery-topology): Sweep address ranges, confirm candidates and map LLDP links

- [Flow analysis](https://tracix.io/docs/network/flow-analysis): Receive NetFlow, IPFIX and sFlow and explore conversations

## Manage device configuration

- [Configuration management](https://tracix.io/docs/network/ncm): How backups, intent, change requests and collectors fit together

- [Device credential vault](https://tracix.io/docs/network/ncm/vault): Store write-only device credentials and bind them to devices

- [Backups and drift](https://tracix.io/docs/network/ncm/backups): Schedule backups, compare revisions and spot drift

- [Drafts and change requests](https://tracix.io/docs/network/ncm/change-requests): Templates, approvals, maintenance windows and firmware staging

- [Compliance rules](https://tracix.io/docs/network/ncm/compliance): Check configurations against built-in and custom rules

- [Supported platforms](https://tracix.io/docs/network/platforms): Which OS families support backup, changes and scoped writes

## Before you start

You need at least one collector that can reach your devices. [Install the collector](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/collector/install) on a host inside the network you want to monitor, then add integrations to its [policy](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/collector/policies). For credentials, trap listeners and ports, see [SNMP polling and traps](https://tracix.io/docs/collect/network-data/snmp) and [Endpoints and ports](https://tracix.io/docs/reference/endpoints-and-ports).
