Devices, flows and configurations
Your network, next to the apps that depend on it
Discover and poll devices over SNMP, read flows from routers and firewalls, follow SD-WAN fabrics, and back up and change configurations, through collectors on your own network and in the same workspace as your applications.

Collectors on your network do the polling, listening and configuration work, and connect out to your workspace.
Network device monitoring
Tracix finds devices that answer SNMP, matches each to a device profile where one fits, and polls interface, CPU, memory and hardware health over SNMP v2c or v3. The same collectors receive SNMP v1, v2c and v3 traps, v2c and v3 informs, and RFC 3164 or 5424 syslog, and ready-made monitors alert on link, hardware and trap conditions.

Discovery and topology
Collectors sweep the CIDR ranges you choose for SNMP devices, and an optional port scan finds hosts and open ports. New devices wait in a candidates list until you confirm them, and the topology map draws links from the LLDP neighbors devices report, arranging firewalls, routers and switches by role.

Flow analysis
Routers, switches and firewalls can send NetFlow v5 or v9, IPFIX or sFlow to a Tracix collector. Flow analysis shows the top conversations, sources, destinations, ports, autonomous systems and countries, with a traffic map and the raw flow records.

SD-WAN
Tracix reads the controller APIs of Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, Cisco Meraki, Cato Networks, VMware VeloCloud, HPE Aruba EdgeConnect, Juniper Mist and Prisma SD-WAN, and shows sites, devices and controller events in one fabric view. Coverage differs by controller: Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN adds tunnel state and per-direction loss, latency and jitter.

Cloud network monitoring
The collector records each TCP connection on Linux hosts and Kubernetes nodes with eBPF, or socket polling where eBPF is not available, and reports throughput, retransmits and round-trip time. Conversations are tied to Kubernetes pods and workloads and can be grouped by service, namespace, host, IP or port.

Configuration management
Tracix backs up running configurations over SSH from 30 network OS families, keeps a new version only when a configuration changes, and checks configurations against built-in and custom compliance rules. Changes go through change requests with a preview, plus an approver and a maintenance window when policy requires them, and firmware can be staged on a device but not installed.

Many SNMP device profiles are derived from Kentik's open-source ktranslate profiles, licensed under Apache 2.0.

Connected to the other areas
Network data sits beside the services and alerts that depend on it.
- ApplicationsSynthetic checks trace the path to each app hop by hop, with loss, round-trip time and the network that owns each hop.
- InfrastructureConnections seen on Kubernetes nodes are resolved to the pods, ReplicaSets and Deployments behind them.
- SecurityAn approved security action can block an IP at the edge as an ACL change on Arista EOS or Nokia SR Linux.
- Operations & AIReady-made network monitors raise alerts that fold into problems, and configuration-change traps attach as change evidence.
