Every vendor on your network, in one workspace

Poll devices over SNMP, receive traps, syslog and flows, map links from LLDP and back up configurations from 30 network OS families, through collectors on your own network. Network and service teams work from the same evidence.

What changes

Four problems network operators bring to us

  • A different tool for every vendor

Collectors find devices across your address ranges, poll them over SNMP v2c or v3 with built-in device profiles, and receive SNMP traps, informs and syslog on the same collectors.

  • Configuration that drifts across thousands of devices

Scheduled SSH backups cover 30 network OS families, compliance rules run on every backup, and changes go through reviewed requests on the platforms Tracix can apply to.

  • Traffic nobody can attribute

Send NetFlow, IPFIX or sFlow to a collector and rank the largest conversations by source, destination, port, autonomous system and country.

  • Network and service teams working from different evidence

Device alerts and service alerts fold into the same problems, configuration-change traps show up as what changed, and synthetic checks trace the path to a service hop by hop.

Products

The products behind each answer

Collectors on your network do the polling, listening and configuration work, and connect out to your workspace.

Many SNMP device profiles are derived from Kentik's open-source ktranslate profiles, licensed under Apache 2.0.

Rollout

Start with one region, then the whole network

Our solutions engineers plan each phase with your network operations and engineering teams.

  1. 01Discover one regionInstall collectors at a few sites, sweep their address ranges and confirm the devices discovery finds.
  2. 02Monitor and back upPoll devices over SNMP, receive traps, syslog and flows, and schedule configuration backups with compliance rules.
  3. 03Change through requestsMove configuration changes into reviewed requests with maintenance windows, then roll the setup out to every site.

FAQ

Questions network operators ask first

What happens when a collector stops polling?
One collector of a policy polls its devices at a time. If it has not reported for three minutes, another collector of the same policy takes over, and every collector of the policy can receive traps.
Where does the topology map come from?
From the LLDP neighbors your devices report. Links that both ends report score higher, and links that stop being seen are marked stale.
Which SD-WAN controllers can Tracix read?
Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, Cisco Meraki, Cato Networks, VMware VeloCloud, HPE Aruba EdgeConnect, Juniper Mist and Prisma SD-WAN, read-only. Tunnel state and per-direction loss, latency and jitter come from Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN only.
Which SNMP versions does Tracix use?
Collectors poll devices over SNMP v2c or SNMPv3, at authPriv, authNoPriv or noAuthNoPriv. They receive SNMP traps in v1, v2c and v3 and informs in v2c and v3, with the same credentials.
