How billing works

What is a workspace?
An isolated Tracix environment with its own Kubernetes namespace, ClickHouse database and DNS name. You might run one for production and one for staging.
How is ingest measured?
Your daily quota is pooled over the billing period: the plan includes its daily quota times the days in the period, so a busy day costs nothing extra when quieter days make up for it. Ingest counts the spans, log records and metric data points your workspaces store, so anything your pipelines filter out or drop before storage is not counted. Plan & usage estimates gigabytes from that count.
What happens if I go over my plan?
Usage above your plan is priced at the published rates. During early access it is not added to invoices yet. Plan & usage in the console shows your usage against your plan and an estimated cost for the period.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. On a paid plan, anyone with permission to manage billing changes plans from Plan & usage in the console, which opens Stripe's billing portal. The console cannot start a paid subscription from the Free plan yet, so during early access our team sets up your first paid plan. If a paid subscription is cancelled, the organization returns to the Free plan.
